Cookie Policy
Who we are and what this covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Talisman Advisory Partners LLC (“talisman”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on talismanap.com and its pages (the “Site”). It is written for visitors in the United States. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information more broadly, including what you send us through the Site’s forms.
The talisman portals that the Site links to (Career Intelligence for candidates, Client Intelligence for clients and the Contractor Hub) run on os.talismanap.com. They use only the sign-in cookies described in the section on the portals below.
Effective date: November 2026.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the site remember something between pages or visits, such as a choice you made. Cookies set by the Site itself are first-party cookies; cookies set by another company’s content on the Site, such as an embedded video, are third-party cookies.
Similar technologies include browser storage (local storage and session storage), which keep information in your browser the way cookies do, and beacons, which are small requests a page sends to report that something happened, such as an article being opened. This policy covers all of them, and we use the word “cookies” for all of them below.
Cookies are either session cookies, deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which stay until they expire or you delete them.
The cookies and technologies the Site uses
The Site sets a small number of first-party cookies, all of them needed for the Site to work or to remember your cookie choice. It sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
| cmplz_functional, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_marketing | Site (Complianz consent tool) | Records the choice you made in the cookie banner for each category | Strictly necessary | 365 days |
| cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_policy_id, cmplz_banner-status | Site (Complianz consent tool) | Remembers that you have seen the banner and which version of this policy you saw, so it is not shown again | Strictly necessary | 365 days |
| cmplz_id | Site (Complianz consent tool) | A random identifier used only to store your consent record; it does not track you across sites | Strictly necessary | 365 days |
| wordpress_test_cookie | Site (WordPress) | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies when you submit a form | Strictly necessary | Session |
The Research and media hub. Pages that show our articles and videos send a small beacon to our own systems when a piece comes into view, is opened or is played, and when you press “Talk to a specialist” from a piece. The beacon carries the piece’s identifier and, if you arrived from one of our links, the campaign tag in the address (for example src or utm_source). It carries no cookie, no device identifier and no name, so it cannot recognise you across visits. We use it to see which content is read.
Embedded videos. Videos in the hub are embedded from YouTube. The video player can set its own third-party cookies once you press play, under that company’s cookie policy. We use the host’s privacy-enhanced embed where it offers one, so nothing is set until you play a video.
Forms. Sending us a resume or a message through the Site’s forms sets no cookie. What you send goes to our recruiting systems as described in the Privacy Policy.
Hosting. The hosting platform may set short-lived technical cookies for load balancing and security that carry no personal information.
Categories, and what we do not use
The cookie banner groups cookies into four categories. Today only the first is in use.
| Category | What it means | On the Site today |
| Strictly necessary (functional) | Needed for the Site to work and to remember your cookie choice. Cannot be switched off in the banner, but you can block them in your browser. | Yes: the consent and WordPress cookies listed above |
| Preferences | Remember settings you chose, such as a language or region | None |
| Statistics (analytics) | Measure how the Site is used, usually through a third-party analytics service | None. We read which hub content is viewed through our own beacon, with no identifier |
| Marketing (advertising) | Build a profile of you across websites to show you advertising, or measure advertising | None |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use cookies to share it with advertising companies for targeted advertising across websites (what California law calls “cross-context behavioral advertising”). If that ever changes, this policy and the banner will change first, and you will be able to opt out.
Your choices
The cookie banner. The banner appears on your first visit and records your choice for a year. You can reopen it at any time from the “Manage consent” link in the footer of every page to change your choice.
Your browser. Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, including the strictly necessary ones. Blocking them may stop parts of the Site working, for example the banner may reappear on every visit. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox explain how.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of your personal information. As the Site sets no advertising or analytics cookies today, there is nothing further to switch off.
Do Not Sell or Share. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale or sharing to opt out of. You can still send a request to legal@talismanap.com and we will confirm this in writing.
Embedded videos. To avoid any third-party cookie from the video host, do not press play on an embedded video, or block third-party cookies in your browser.
The talisman portals
Signing in to a talisman portal on os.talismanap.com sets one cookie that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary, holds only a signed session reference (never your password), is not readable by other websites, and is deleted when you sign out or when the session expires.
| Portal | Cookie | Lifetime |
| Career Intelligence (candidates) | candidate_portal_session | For the length of your sign-in |
| Client Intelligence (clients) | client_portal_session | For the length of your sign-in |
| Contractor Hub (contractors) | contractor_portal_session | For the length of your sign-in |
Signing in with a Microsoft account sets two further short-lived cookies (talisman_ms_state and talisman_ms_next) for the few minutes the sign-in takes, to protect the sign-in against forgery and return you to the page you asked for. The portals set no analytics or advertising cookies.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the cookies the Site uses change, and the effective date at the top will change with it. Material changes, such as adding analytics or advertising cookies, will also be reflected in the banner, which will ask for your choice again.
